CIM Summer BBQ 2010

CIM (Correctional Institute for Men - Chino) 2010 Annual BBQ!

This was a fantastic event and it was our honor to serve the men and women that work at CIM! We served salad, watermelon, Tri-Tip, and Chicken. The meal was a great success! We served over 500 people! Rave reviews from all the people attending!

The big smoker was loaded to the brink with over 200lbs of tri-tip and 200 lbs of chicken.

The prep and slicing area in the tent was packed with "helpers" getting some information and knowledge on spices, rubs, cooking temps, and slicing techniques from Big Daddy Black! Lots of information was passed out and fun was had by all helping and "helping".
Thanks to the entire team for setting up and serving this group. We had two serving lines set up to get all these people fed quickly and efficiently! Chow was served on time and HOT for all the people attending the event!
Can't wait to cook up some tasty food for all the amazing people at CIM at next year's BBQ! See you then!
This event was sponsored by the great folks at New Hope Christian Fellowship in Chino Hills, CA. Photos of the group attending was not allowed due to the sensitive nature of their employment.

Andrea Hayward Blood Drive

Andrea Hayward Blood Drive.

This event was sponsored by the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Chino, CA. Andrea Hayward is a member of the Church and in May of this year she was admitted to Cedar Sinai Hospital where she was diagnosed with Lupus and TTP. She needed a tremendous amount of plasma for her treatments. The Church and Cedar Sinai set up a blood drive to allow friends, family, and community members to give back and donate blood. The event was a huge success and Big Daddy Black BBQ was proud to be a part of the event.

The cooking team included Aaron (Big Daddy Black), Greg, and Kyle. We prepared and cooked everything on site including Northwoods Version of White Salad, Northwoods Version of Red Salad, Baked Beans, Tri-Tip, and Chicken. All the food turned out fantastic and everyone loved the chow!

Everyone was impressed with the big trailer and the amount of meat it can handle at one time.

Big Daddy checking out the chicken.

We fed over 250 people in under 15 minutes through two chow lines - now that's efficiency!

There was plenty of food for all and seconds through the line was not a rare occurrence. Plenty of comments like "Best Tri-Tip I have EVER had" was heard more than once!

It was a great event and we are all proud of the efforts of the fantastic staff at Cedar Sinai, the incredible support from Andrea's workplace - City of Hope, and the never ending efforts, thoughts, and prayers from Andrea's Church - New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Please support Lupus research and whenever you get a chance - GIVE BLOOD!
